As we are watching Alien I couldn't help but pay attention/analyze how the women were portrayed in the film. You have Sigourney Weaver, the stand out leader of the group, who during times of chaos can make a plan and rally everyone together. She doesn't take shit from anyone and isn't afraid to show it either, however she also does briefly show her motherly side as well. Then we also have Vasquez, the ass kicking Marine that never smiles, and is always ready for a fight. I find it awesome how she is the most badass out of all the Marines in the movie and went out with a bang. I wish she would have made it to the end where they run into the "queen" Alien, because you now she would have been the first to light up the Alien.
In most movies and T.V shows women aren't portrayed as they are in Alien, they typically play more passive roles and are very "ladylike". However that needs to change since women can play those badass roles just as well as men.
